Does anyone know any other language besides the one they mainly speak? English is my main language, but I also know a bit of French-Canadian since it is mandatory to learn up until our first year of highschool.

I'm not fluent in anything other than English, but I know some French and Japanese. I really want to become fluent in Japanese though!

Right *facepalm* I also know very little Japanese, only from watching anime. But yeah, I would also very much like to learn Japanese

I'm fluent in Polish and Greek. I also have a diploma of Proficiency in English (which means I could teach English at school), I understand and speak basic Russian as well as basic French and I'm studying at the moment in my Uni Italian. I don't consider the words I know in Japanese knowledge However I have already found a Japanese teacher who can give me lessons in Japanese, after I graduate Uni (which means more or less in 6 months ^^) I'm also going to learn Spanish, because they have many similarities to Italian, so it would be easy for me to learn them. Hmm I guess that's it.. But the more languages I learn the better! If I ever have the money and time, I will also start Arabic and maybe Chinese lessons, but this is is a dream in the long future.

Portuguese, English and a little bit of French. Even though I don't know Spanish, if I read a phrase in Spanish I can easily tell what it means.

If you met a Spanish person would you be able to communicate with each other?

I would be able to understand them, but they wouldn't be able to understand me. I think that us, portuguese people, have more facility in understanding other languages. Maybe because our language is more complex.

It must be the same as Russian and Polish. I can understand Russian, but a Russian cannot understand me

English, French and many Scottish dialects.

You guys are insane XP How do you know so many languages??
I can only read and slightly speak french from highschool and japanese(not even close to being fluent) because im majoring in it in college.

All of you guys are really amazing, having so many languages that can speak. I'm jealous. Hahaha. I can only speak/write two: Filipino (which is our main language) and English. I'm both fluent in it. I have a dream of learning 2-3 more languages. Though I think I can't in the near future.

It's true, European citizens speak more languages than people in other continents. There are many reasons for that, but it would take me quite a lot of time to write it down, and I should be studying Italian and theory of electronic commerce for my exams tomorrow! Q_Q
