I'm new here. I'm a simple fool who means well and who can sometimes sound stupid.
I watch the occasional Anime, read a little bit of Manga and listen to a hell of a lot of music.

Let's have a bit of fun and a good chat, shall we?

Besides One Piece, I enjoyed watching a few well known ones, such as Death Note, Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop and Berserk and Deadman Wonderland. I've seen a few episodes to some full seasons of Code Geass, Fullmetal Alchemist, Seven Deadly Sins, Bleach, Naruto and Fairy Tail, but haven't bothered watching them further for one reason or another. Usually I prefer the grittier kinds of anime, but something with a good bit of humor in between is always welcome, too.

As for manga, every now and then I find myself "immersed" in an anime series, which then makes me pick up the manga. I spent a few long evenings, just stumbling across an enjoyable manga too, but I usually forget the name.

This may get some angry fans, but I don't really like Dragonball. I could never really get into the story. But eh, to each their own.

Welcome to the forums, Taima. I hope you will have a good time. I see you've seen just about every mainstream anime.

Why would a plant be specified as a Zoan fruit? Zoans are always species, but we have only seen animals and human/Buddha.

Pretty much. If you have any recommendations though, I'll be happy to look them up. Gives me something to waste my evening on.

Well, since you specified "gritty", I suppose that's what I'll be going from.

First off, I have to suggest you read the manga for Berserk if you didn't already. It goes much further than the anime and is easily one of my favorite works. Secondly, if you have any interest in psychological anime, I would recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion for its good cast and all-in-all solid cuts/music. For something less fantastical (and if you are into gambling) Kaiji, which does a very good job of bringing tension to the roof with its twisted games and handling of the cruel side of human nature.

For sports anime, I can only point out one: One Outs, a baseball anime with a twist. Its clever main character usually has a very unique way of beating his opponents. For beautiful animation and interesting story, the Kara no Kyoukai movies do not disappoint. If you'd like a more peaceful anime, Spice and Wolf dwells into economics(!) and has some of the greatest banter between two characters I've witnessed.

Finally, Joker Game is quite a new one but it's an anime about spies if that strikes your fancy.

I would suggest only Code Geass out of the ones you've mentioned, it is slow to start and seems rather pointless in the beginning, but it is overall one of my favorite animé. You can drop the others, they aren't exactly very good or interesting beyond a certain point.

Fullmetal Alchemist is pretty good up to some point but it trails off and follows a different storyline from the manga. If you want something that adheres to the original script, I suggest you watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which is more shōnen-like (and better imo).

About personal recommendations, I'd suggest these: Mushishi, if you're okay with episodic animé with beautiful music and art; Samurai Champloo, which you might oddly find similar to Cowboy Bebop (although not entirely); Fate/Zero, one of my favorites with a great plot, great music, great art and short and sweet; Zankyou no Terror, one of Shinichiro Watanabe's masterpieces; Parasyte: The Maxim, which is a science fiction horror-infested thriller that is simply perfect in my opinion.

    Welcome here x)

Enjoy your stay and have fun.

@Phantom you just dropped some places in my personal top fav members for not recommending Gintama and/or Steins;Gate and/or HxH. You are now really close of sprasle and RoronoaZoro at the bottom. I hope you don't repeat the joke ever again.

Since @Yumavo Cado hasn't made it here yet, I'll recommend Samurai Champloo to you, the OST is dope

Also I like the Devil Fruit idea in your signature ;)

Damn, @Phantom and @Marco Polo were quicker than I indeed, but yeah watch Samurai Champloo. If you liked Bebop, chances are you'll also enjoy Champloo; it's the same creator, you'll notice. And it has weed in it, at least in one episode. (@Grin's question remains legitimate, why is your cannabis devil fruit a zoan type?)

I also recommend Welcome to the NHK, Bakemonogatari, Death Parade, Mononoke (not to be confused with Princess Mononoke) and Neon Genesis Evangelion for somewhat darker stuff. If your taste is anything at all like mine (and I do love Bebop), you'll at least enjoy some of these. Zankyou no Terror, as Phantom has mentioned, is also great, although I felt it was a bit rushed, it could've had more episodes. It's also by the same creator as Bebop and Champloo. For a less gritty recommendation, check FLCL. It's super short (6 episodes), has an amazing soundtrack, animation is on point too. But do consider that most of the story plays off on the meta level. If you're looking for something that has a solid plot on the outside, FLCL isn't quite that. It's very metaphorical.

And, of course, welcome to the jungle.
