I'm just curious as to how many are there out there learning japanese like I do?

Learning process is never meant to be alone!

@KaleNovice do you learn by attending courses, via apps, a combination or both or other means?
If apps, any you can recommand?

During my university time I once attended the basic Japanese course. But most of the time I have been on self-learning and I have just completed N4 Level. To be very honest I've not been really active in learning Japanese though recently because of lacking motivation. Back then when I was very active in learning I used websites, apps, movies, and even games to learn Japanese. I have used lots of apps but If you really want me to suggest, I'd say "Yomikata Z" , "Obenkyo", Tango Risto" . Yomikata Z is for learning vocab, especially for those who are trying to sit for JLPT exam, Obenkyo is for the beginner and above and teaches you about grammar and stuff (this was the one I used when I first started learning Japanese), and Tango Risto is for you to read simple Japanese news...

Self Learning? Well motivation is the most important thing to keep the beginner going! Keep it up!

Thank you, I'll look out for them.
I've very recentely started (again) and mainly use apps. Though I got a "home course kit"-thingy for the time when the more advanced stuff is coming, so that I have at least a bit of support.
Still at the stage of repeating Hiragana and Katakana on a daily basis to drill them in and learning basic Kanji and grammar. Start of N1, if you will.

I actually take Japanese classes. Been learning for a while now.

I find it really enjoyable. Sometimes though, I wanna rip all my hair out.

Long long time ago I had bought book for it, have bunch of learning resources stored somewhere as well, but never really had time to get to it. Its actually little impractical for me to learn it before learning more important ones that may actually assist in my professional career, like Chinese and German. Chinese is bit too tricky since you have to learn actual characters so you can use it. 400 Characters can be considered level 1 and 2k character for level 2 or something like that, I'm halfway there to level 2.

Best time to learn it was when I was getting introduced to anime and manga, that would've worked best but now its just little too much on back burner, it is one of little regrets of my life I guess.

No,i would really like it since i actually love japanese but i think this language is just too difficult,no way i could write in japanese.
Each letter looks like a highly difficult drawing.
    I know how it sounds,they use no,na,ne,ka,me...
And these sounds will match specific letters they have.
Until now i know some words and the meaning of them but it's a very poor knowledge:weary:
I think learning japanese is like maths or programming, extremely difficult.

Am learning right now & the best part is that my Sensei is a Native Japanese person.
Am done with the Hiragana, but its quite difficult to by heart each and every words man.
