Agreed, he is really interesting the more they show of him.
I'm in love with Gentle Criminal
He needs his own spin-off series
Good to hear your son is doing well. I just caught up with this manga in 3 days last week.
The best part of the last few chapters is easily the lowered stakes. Everything can't be life or death and I love Gentle. His path makes sense as a whole.
Gentle and Lovelover were a lot more fun than I expected them to be, a really enjoyable pair of “villains”
Thanks, he's really grown attached to this anime, probably since it's his first that he's seen from the beginning. At first he was a little upset that new episodes will be in Japanese but I told him it would be good for his reading(He's 8 years old) Sure enough these last two weeks he's been able to keep up and he hasn't even noticed that he has to read.Once we finished the first two season I caught up with the manga in two days, lol. It was hard to stop reading!
I loved Gentle Criminal.
When we're initially introduced to him, you suspect he might be one of them trickster villains. Ones who basically give the MC a reach around and then get away before the climax, but no, completely pummeled my expectations for him. He's probably up there with Stain for my favorite villain in the series.
He also looks like a bad ass.
Are we on break for Boku no Hero manga this week?
It's Golden Week in Japan so all manga is on break unfortunately.
Of course. Jirou(best girl) chapter incoming, with hopefully more KamiJirou moment(s), and Reverie starting. That's when Golden Week has to happen.
No manga thread here?
I want to discuss, but don't want to ruin it for those that only watch the anime...
Big developments for Endeavor now, we find out why he went through all that effort to have a half-half child, and why it had to be with Todoroki’s mother
Also, his losing his left eye is a pretty sweet parallel with his son, who seems destined to surpass him at this point
I just read it. Since op was on break I forgot to read it on Friday.
But I did not see that coming!
Drumming Bakugou was a sight to behold; such a blessing.
Nighteye and Vermillion (technically not dead, but his alter ego pretty much is right now, so that counts) could've used a bit more build-up to make their respective deaths more impactful.
Gentle Criminal/Culture Festival arc was a nice breather.
Hawk is intriguing, while also being a dick.
The new Nomu is totally op and how Endavour deals with his injuries is neat. His redemption arc also picked up a lot, I hope it gets a nice conclusion.
The lack of Dabi is dissapointing and I finally wanna have the confirmation for him to be related to Endavour, too. Though this might be close with the Nomu, who are tied to the villain alliance, making a move and with the possible demise of Endavour at hand.
@Booker idk if you’ve seen 190 yet but you might be getting what you want real soon
Just read it.
Dabi looking good there. Wonder if he's going to give us his real name now.
I mean, the way he adresses Todoroki during their meeting in the woods, his flame ability, their movement pattern while fighting, the physice he shares with Todoroki. Would be weird for him not to be related to Endeavor one way or another. I can totally see him being a Shouto.
Though, if he is going to engage in combat with Endeavor now, then I'll be slightly dissapointed. Would've been a nice twist for Endeavor to be defeated (possibly even killed) by someone with his own ability in a superior execution, considering what he used his former wife for.
Then again, Endeavor's current redemption arc took a lot away from this idea.
Not really a fan of how he emulated All Might's pose, but I guess it also goes hand in hand considering what kind of symbol All Might was for him and how he strifed to reach him. Now being the official No.1 hero and the second person to have defeated a Nomu and even a stronger version than the one All Might faced; he actually manged to "cross the gap climb the mountain".
Todoriko praying was also a really good moment.
The path toward this wasn't subtle at all, but the pay off was nice.
I actually really liked the ending pose, I suppose it's symbolic of him becoming everyone's new hope, He's earned the Number 1 spot now, rather than just being the best of the rest
That being said, Hawks is also very cool
