Nice hobby ><
Are you autistic by the way?
People pls stop typing your hobbies in this thread... this thread isn't for you to answer which hobbies you do, its for MY HOBBY to be introduced.
Why would you think i am autistic ?... tbh autistic people probably can't control the precision of this hobby... Most of my hobby friends that construct plastic models are either in historical waters or in medical ones. You need a surgical hand for working with what I work with. Have fun making a precise barb wire out of 0.10mm thick bronze wire
Today got in from postman
Vallejo color to paint my 1000 Sunny so i'll finally start with it, 'll reopen other thread about it
Compressor in case my original breaks (won bid on ebay) original price for compressor is roughly 90-110€ but i got it for 25€ - victory
Rotary tool to do sanding faster,...'ll come handy
adapter for plug, since i failed and ordered rotary tool with GB plug so i had to buy EU adapter
Well time to start with my 1000 Sunny ... wish me luck
You are amazing. Your works are :supa:
Looking forward to that
Just bought this beast...
Also. I'll be posting McLaren Mercedes F1 next week
Woaw that thing seems crazy, a beast for sure !
Took a while but i've made it...and just in time...today i have to give it to my friend for his 24th birthday.
This is formula 1 formula, McLaren Mercedes MP4/12 from 1997, I've made it Kimi Hakkinen style and not David Coultard since i had this two to choose from.
Formula is in 1:24 scale and i'm HIGHLY disappointed with her. A lot of key stuff was made wrong so i had to improvise. Whole kid itself was moved for 4mm to the left so i had major balance issues. Paint didn't stick with plastic thus i had to cover it roughly 9 times with 4 coats of varnish...insanely wasted time and colors.
Decals were nice but really hard to put on ... some were made in a way that you have to bend it and that one i ''fucked up'' so there is a black gap in orange front, which i fixed with painting with orange over it.
Other decals were thin and long so it was hard to grasp them - 5 lines or so, you can see from pictures.
Cabin itself is missing tons of shizzle...
Yea in overall bad model, but i think i made it a little better
now for ~few pics
Do you participate in some F1prototype (small) competition ?
No. Actually this is my 1st Formula i've build so far^^
Pretty nice, r1pp3r!
Let me add the finishing photo's with custom made display
First i had to saw some wood then i hammered few nails into two pieces and glues at the connecting place.
Took a DVD case and cut it to make a triangle shape (2x) for supporting a glass (taken from 10x15cm picture frame). Glues them together and it looked like this
Removed the formula (was only for testing...) and started painting. 1st coat was primer gray. 30min later 2nd coat of matt black. 1h later a coat of glossy black. 1h later 1st coat of varnish and 2 and 3rd coats were added in 15min intervals. finally left it to rest for 2h and glues formula on the case. Added decals of McLaren Mercedes and F1 logo on the background
Looks awesome !
Sucks that the key stuff was made wrong, why they sell stuff like that ...
Amazing that it is a birthday gift when you used so long on it. The rest of us (me) use 30minutes driving to the nearest store that have the thing the person wanted
ty ^^... Actually i love mistakes. Gives more work to model then just gluing all together and painting...a challenge so to say... but when you'r on a clock to meet the deadline like this it becomes really frustrating.
This post was 2013. How come I'm only seeing this now? Tsk.
Anyway, great stuff. You really have cool hobbies. I'm really amazed (and envious XD)
