These are fabulous
Do you go to an Art school?
Nope. I really only had one drawing class and one scenic painting class. I work in the theatre as a scenic artist. Most of my experiences comes from painting sets for theatre productions and working for different companies
The next post I will find some pictures from work
Amazing. So when you say theatre, you are talking about backgrounds for plays, etc?
Yes! Backgrounds, sets (platforms and walls the actors walk on and interact with), some furniture and certain props. I paint a lot of it, depends on the play or musical
Hey sorry for the long wait. Grad school is taking up a lot of time. But on the plus side I've been in a prop class so I have some pieces to add on here! I hope you guys enjoy!
First is a foam carving of a lion door knocker. Started with an 8"x8"x2" Piece of foam. Never carved foam this detailed before. turned out alright. The face is a little squished in but I still like it haha
Spoiler: Foam Carving
Then we had to take a cheap hard cover book and make into something neat with maybe secret compartments and such. I nerded out and was inspired to do a Legend of Zelda style book Here is the outside of it
Spoiler: Altered Book
The inside looked like this!
I made a little fairy in the bottle and behind it I burned the edges and added the triforce symbol!
Another project we did was we had to make a Venetian mask from scratch. I found a cool image of a steam punk bunny I used as inspiration. here is the final product!
Here is what it looks like on my face!
These were some of the projects I had to do. I'll post more towards the end of the semester. Tell me whatcha think!
Okay this is something I can't NOT share! My lab class that I'm teaching has currently been working on a "voodoo doll" project. Basically they learn basic sewing skills and how to be creative with decorating it. I had some time during their work days so I made one myself along with them! I'm tickled pink with how well and cute this turned out!
He's about 8" tall and about 2" chest width. I found a cheerleading pom pom for his hair, spray painted his pants on and used little straws and hot glue to make the swords!
Spoiler: Roronoa Zoro!
Wow, your art is amaizing!
Nice art there! Keep it up the good work.
You really are some amazing Artist if it were for sale I'd have bought it .
Aww thanks guys! Hopefully I'll be able to post more soon!
This summer has been busy but I just wanted to post my favorite project which was for our Production of Disney's Newsies.
I was given an image from the designer and had to recreate it on a 3 foot by 6 foot canvas. It took 22 hours of work over the course of 4 days, only 9 colors and lots of internal screaming lol Here is the final product next to my given image! Enjoy!
Wow... they look exactly the same amazing work BTW Wish You the best for upcoming projects.
Wow that looks amazing!! Paint something for me too and send it to germany pls
Thank you! I'm so happy you guys enjoy my work. I'll do my best to post more, but grad school will start up again soon. Crossing my fingers I'll have time
I so wanna say yes I'll do it, but I already have a long list of side projects and then with school. If you tell me what you'd like, in the next year or two, I might get to it lol
Ooo I came across this gem while organizing my photos. I posted it on the forum for one of the drawing challenges earlier this year. I figured I could share it here too!
