I did a theory of Kiku's identity way back when she was introduced in Wano Kuni! The Real Identity of Kiku Part 2

Orochi said that the Kozuki retainers got out of their graves after the promised 20 years. He's gonna flip out when he sees Brook, he'll think he's one of them.

While it's a funny thing, I don't think Oda will do this, it'll just setup a brief Brook vs. Kyoshiro clash.

    Yes, a new chapter!

Took me for a while before I understood who Bonekichi was. First I thought that Bonekichi was a new character but then I understood that it was Brook .

Komurasaki made very bad first impression to me but now that she defended O-Toko, I don't know what to think about her.

I felt the exact same way about her. Hopefully there’s some actual reason for her behaviour that justifies all of that conniving and cruelty that we saw in the first introduction of her. Otherwise it’s just an inability to have strong female without a serious flaw, which would be a bit tragic but, unfortunately, consistent. I do get that flaws are part of what makes us who we are and shapes us into ourselves, etc. Tis the scale and nature of these that’s the concern. It’s shonen, I’m not expecting miracles here but still. ^_^

@bandurista24 Based on Oda's trends I'd disagree. For big twists, he loves to distract and mislead. Contextually, the mystery hat guy is doing the worst job possible by making Komurasaki the most famous women in Wano Kuni. He literally put her in the enemy's hands. Oden and by extension the 9 Scabbards shouldn't be that stupid. Is there a chance she is? Damn straight. Oda's 100% rational/connectivity makes it less likely.
Yes, most definitely. We won't have weak opponents (at least the people that are the climax fights for the crew) for the rest of the series.
Technically, the movie usage of creating so many hands that she produces an arm way bigger than a giant (think it was movie 4) is way more overpowered. Robin and Luffy's "powers" are both abstract and unique. Which is where we have no idea on what their awakening will be. My bias says the whole body "sprout" is nothing close to an awakening (since it isn't an astronomical increase in power). Stuff like all of the awakened zoans (massive increases to all physical abilities, but greatest in durability/recovery) and the various mass production of element (Aokiji, Akaini, Doffy, and Cracker). Robin's power-up from her 3D2Y is a big one, but is still small-fry relative to what awakenings are shown to be. I would probably make the analogy of Robin simply manipulating a part of her fruit ability similar to Chopper and the "change in wavelength" that happens with his Rumble Ball.
And that's one of the many recent inconsistencies. Oda introduced WAY too many antagonists this arc, so he has to create numerous allies to counter. Kinemon/Kanjurou/Raizou all contextually are Scabbard members and they should have been able to take on most of the problems they were shown (only Doffy might have required all 3 of them fighting together). Hell, this chapter almost makes it seem like they might be close to Doffy level. Either way, yes, Oda is contradicting previous content. On the positive side, it sounds like he may stop it (we got a new statement from Oda).
This is actually a really good point. Prior to Pudding, Oda was extremely black and white on morals. Allies were good and baddies were bad (of course not everyone is rotten in every aspect => Senor Pink and his portrayal of "complete" loyalty to his first love [using someone's bikini to wipe his mouth implies otherwise or at a minimum a lack of respect for all other women]). Oda is bucking his previous universal law. Yes, it is what the real world is, but it's not the world Oda created previously. I don't care either way as long as he can continue his amazing levels of character development. So once we get the sad backstory, we will probably like her and empathize (in turn overlooking the bad first impression).
Yes and the biggest aspect is that the author is a self-proclaimed biggest perv in the world. It definitely comes across directly in the early SBS (at least Oda and the fans make jokes of it most of the time). At least Oda is making an effort to try to change (essentially everyone predicted the Lola and Big Mom relation from the beginning because of the lack of relevant female characters). I'm surprised I haven't read your perspective on this sooner. Thankfully, Oda is trying to change with the times though.

Almost forgot: @Admiral Ryokugyu we aren't missing anything. The kimono shown in Orochi's. Thus, Komurasaki is touching Orochi vs. someone touching Komurasaki. Despite her despise/not wanting to become his wife, she was initially not going to fight the "fate". I will admit that this twist does make Komurasaki a whole lot more interesting to me (anyone with morals is going to be relevant to the story in some way). That is the sort of level Oda wants people to be reading though. He loves putting the breadcrumbs out there and when people overlook them.

So I just realized that I haven’t actually addressed this before, not directly. I started a thread about morality and religion and perhaps we should move this discussion there because I sense that it’s about to get lengthy. However, I don’t believe that his morals have ever been as simple as black and white. All of his characters have depths and negative aspects to them, even the protagonists. Yeah, I really want to dig deep into this topic and cite several characters as well as the progression of the story... it’ll totally be a text wall. I think I’ll write up a post in the other thread and tag you. ^_^
Oh it’s come up/out here and there in bits and pieces. I do try not to get on soapboxes. Let me say though that being a pervert is not a valid excuse. There are many that would consider me to be one—for sure. It’s just that I’m fully capable of and tend to prefer to “perv” on women and men who are entire people as I recognize and am attracted to all of them no matter how much I may want to objectify the hell out of them. Actually, it’s often the non-physical bits that make me wanna objectify someone. So yeah, perviness is not an excuse. You can respect and lust after people simultaneously. Anyways, enough of that. As I said, I don’t expect much in that department and the characters are well written otherwise. They match the rest of societal expectations, etc so I’m not surprised by the depictions. The other aspects of the series have been enough to overcome this for me so I generally let it go as I try to focus on the positive in life in general. It’s only when I’m first exposed to it anew, it comes up in conversation or is otherwise relevant that I mention it. Kind of like my issues with Sadie-chan and the poor representation of BDSM since she doesn’t actually embody any of the consent principles that are foundational. She could never be a domme. ^_^

It depends on what kind of character she will be in future chapters. For example, although Nami and Hancock had sad past and reason for their behaviour, I still don't like them.

Love the chapter! Specially when robin needs a helping hand and nami watching her back with the ninja. It only shows that even you are strong enough you can't do everything alone (like what luffy said, he cant cook, cant navigate etc in arlong park) they have to help each other to attain their goals.

That bitch slap was good lol.

Either she's momo sister or one of kinemon subordinate.

Orochi is a fake samurai / swordsman. He threw his sheath away when he drew his sword in Chapter 932. Oda drew a panel just for that. A swordsman / samurai would never do such thing.

Also look at the panel where Orochi sliced that wall, that was NOT a clean cut.

Oda is amazing when it comes to these hints. Zoro foreshadowed it when he told Luffy not to throw the sheath away in their fight against Hawkins.

He's probably just like Luffy. No, maybe a combination of Luffy, Blackbeard and Buggy.

Yup exactly. That's probably the most relevant option and especially if there's a thread already. The usual suspects can jump in as they want.
Of course I would 100% agree. Hell, when I was a kid, Japan would have porno mags on the display stands in the street (I like to think I can be objective on the negative parts of my culture or even the Hawaiian culture if it were to come up). Thankfully, Oda is pretty aware of culture as a whole. He's definitely late to the party (creating relevant female characters only recently), but considering the cultural influences (the kanji for "cheap" is literally a woman under a roof: a women kept at home is cheaper; This same culture emphasizes the "womanly" role as the caregiver greater than most cultures I've experienced first hand too). I think it is a valid "excuse" to a certain extent in that it is going to take a whole lot of factors to change a personal bias. At least Oda is willing to change. I'd rip him if he wasn't.
Haha...and even though there are a lot of positives from the trend of broad acceptance/cultural awareness/whatever term or movement you want to reference there is still the underlying technicality that we are all completely different human individuals (and with our own unique biases). The inability to see it from the opposing perspective is probably the biggest factor to the exaggeration of differing biases (the whole clip art of two people looking at a 6/9 with both being correct from their perspective). But that's also a pretty critical part of One Piece's success (the ability to gap so many cultures/backgrounds and even entertainment biases).
Yup! This is going to be a constant theme throughout the rest of the series (Roger was the exact same way despite his superhuman combat capabilities when cornered). At least this is something I think Oda has never veered from.
Yup. Missed these. However, he's got a freakin' hydra zoan. If it has poison (and a strong one that can melt the whole castle for example), then he has no need for any swordsmanship. I think Oda already dropped the breadcrumb on how powerful his fruit abilities are in the chapter and these swordsmanship related details are exactly the sort of 100% connectivity that I've grown to expect. It is the norm, but most people don't take the time to look for it.
Blackbeard looks a little unskilled with his pistols (huge delay out of fear when Whitebeard gets serious vs. unconsciousness with mastery even in adverse situations)...don't recall any sword usage. But yup, valid point on how all of them are overly dependent on their fruit ability.

you mean a Yamata no Orochi zoan right ?

because the hydra and the orochi are two completely different mythological creatures. The Hydra is far more powerful than the Orochi, but it is NOT what Orochi transforms into.
Hydra has poison, Yamata no Orochi doesn't.

There’s definitely a need to recognize that individuals are individuals, with all of their experiences and perspectives being combined to form the sum of them thus making it such that no two people can ever truly see things exactly the same way. Not even identical twins. I’d hope that I give the impression that I fully comprehend and respect that. I’m aware of how the brain filters out realities down to the finest details such that we never fully perceive anything as it empirically exists. That being the case, all reality is subjective, as experienced, thus everything is biased to some degree. ^_^

I see where you’re coming from there. The porn isn’t necessarily a bad thing, depending on the depictions, sex and sexualization aren’t bad in and of themselves but the kanji is a different story in the message it sends. So I do see how there are things to overcome. That does imply that the US doesn’t have its own issues. It’s super puritanical when it comes to the human body and women’s roles. The whole pinking of everything drives me batshit. Did you see the crap of women’s ink pens? What about the firearms? Meh. And why is it lewd for women to display nipple and not men? Breasts are not lewd, they’re organs for feeding children, ffs. I don’t care how sexy we happen to find them. Pecs are sexy too. Okay sorry. Thus endeth the rant. The point was that I see your point vis a vis bias and the need to overcome it. I was simply pointing out that it’s pretty heavy over here as well. ^_^

Per the comments by the underlings, I would lean toward a hydra zoan. Taking that away and going off the broad Japanese theme of the arc, then the "Orochi" zoan. We will have to wait on combat scenes for confirmation, but that's why I asked about the number of heads since that might have been a hint if there wasn't overlap.
Exactly...and that's why I'm just going to universally oversimplify the "human element" and focus on the relevant "context" of the discussion. I will always jumps steps, so part of discussions with me will have to be clarifying the right "context" being referenced.
Haha...of course and to me, this is the sort of stuff that should go without saying. We have enough overlap in common sense/rationale/morals that certain things shouldn't need to be directly stated most of the time. I'm going to make these shortcuts because I'm always pressed for time here.
Of course, and it's all based on culturally influenced biases. At least life experiences can change negative biases, but unfortunately the world as a whole is just a crappy place. To me, it's just about making the most of the crappy situation. Being able to spend some time here is an escape from some of that crap.

The number of heads for a Lernaen hydra is 6-9 to begin with, if I recall correctly. The constant is that when you cut one off, multiple grow back unless you cauterize wound. Eight heads is definitely consistent with Yamato no Orochi though. If we could see if he had eight tails, that would help a great deal. Also the shogun seems to be afraid of death and the hydra has an immortal head.
