Use this thread to discuss Season 2 of the One Punch Man anime!
Watched Episode 1 and 2 so far, about to watch Episode 3
The animation isn't bad at all, the change in studio isn't a big deal. The opening sequence, however, is pretty terrible.
The "vibe" that Season 1 had is still there, it's still just as funny as it was. The new characters are all compelling too - King seems like a fun addition to the gang, Fubuki is a much needed best girl and Garou seems like a villain capable of rivalling Saitama. I'm excited to see how the season plays out!
that ending of episode 3.... i actually shit my pants... He dared raising his hand on Saitama... man balls of steel xD props to that guy... looks like season is finally heating up
Trust Saitama to make a threatening guy look totally useless in a matter of seconds, lol
Also the post-credits scene with Genos was cute, that boy is such a lil' square
I can agree on everything but the art quality decreased a lot in both the animation and the illustration.
Anyway, that was to be expected as season 1 was a collaboration made of the best of the best in what they do and was initially supposed to be a one shot like the original manga (go check it out LOL).
Spoiler: The martial arts tournament
Duuuude. Metal Bat almost had him! If his sister hadn’t shown up right then. And, fascinatingly enough, Garou still has principles. A true monster, as he claims to be, would’ve destroyed the little girl to get to his intended victim. I wonder when we get more backstory and if Saitama’s gonna fight him or if there’s gonna be like a conversation or some conversion. I mean there’s clearly a plot brewing with the monsters. The martial arts tourney champ practically licking his chops at the idea of fighting Saitama is fun. Fubuki and whip monster—I’m there for that. They both need attitude adjustments but at least I know the source of Fubuki’s complex and she’s fighting for good. For all I know, she’s already changing (I’d be a bit irked if it just took a man to change her but if there’s no romance then I can run with it if we’re talking just strength of character/will and an example being set). Anyways, I’ll stop rambling now. I realized I forgot to post after I watched it and really wanted to chat about it so yeah.
I will wait for it to finish and watch.
JC Staff is one of the best studios,i think they can do it.
The quality of their animation is good for what i know.
Saitama will destroy all of those loosers.
I’ve not read the manga just to wait for the anime so I’m not too sure if i should be disappointed or not, but the storyline has been a downer for me. Prolonged action and a pretty much a messy scene transition. I like the opening song tho. Gahddamnit i’ve waited 3 episodes just to see saitama do some amateur karate shit but nope.
Spoiler: episode 18
That ending though! So between it appearing that Genos was defeated and the speech that martial arts dude gave about the strong protecting the weak and ensuring survival of humanity (especially who was included in that number), I’m really interested to see how this is going to progress. It looks like it’s going to lead credence to my notion regarding Garou maybe getting recruited/converted to the side of good again. This seems to be about exposing the problems within the hero association (and thus society) itself.
