Use this thread to discuss Season 2 of the One Punch Man anime!
Watched Episode 1 and 2 so far, about to watch Episode 3
The animation isn't bad at all, the change in studio isn't a big deal. The opening sequence, however, is pretty terrible.
The "vibe" that Season 1 had is still there, it's still just as funny as it was. The new characters are all compelling too - King seems like a fun addition to the gang, Fubuki is a much needed best girl and Garou seems like a villain capable of rivalling Saitama. I'm excited to see how the season plays out!
that ending of episode 3.... i actually shit my pants... He dared raising his hand on Saitama... man balls of steel xD props to that guy... looks like season is finally heating up
Trust Saitama to make a threatening guy look totally useless in a matter of seconds, lol
Also the post-credits scene with Genos was cute, that boy is such a lil' square
I can agree on everything but the art quality decreased a lot in both the animation and the illustration.
Anyway, that was to be expected as season 1 was a collaboration made of the best of the best in what they do and was initially supposed to be a one shot like the original manga (go check it out LOL).
Spoiler: The martial arts tournament
Duuuude. Metal Bat almost had him! If his sister hadn’t shown up right then. And, fascinatingly enough, Garou still has principles. A true monster, as he claims to be, would’ve destroyed the little girl to get to his intended victim. I wonder when we get more backstory and if Saitama’s gonna fight him or if there’s gonna be like a conversation or some conversion. I mean there’s clearly a plot brewing with the monsters. The martial arts tourney champ practically licking his chops at the idea of fighting Saitama is fun. Fubuki and whip monster—I’m there for that. They both need attitude adjustments but at least I know the source of Fubuki’s complex and she’s fighting for good. For all I know, she’s already changing (I’d be a bit irked if it just took a man to change her but if there’s no romance then I can run with it if we’re talking just strength of character/will and an example being set). Anyways, I’ll stop rambling now. I realized I forgot to post after I watched it and really wanted to chat about it so yeah.
I will wait for it to finish and watch.
JC Staff is one of the best studios,i think they can do it.
The quality of their animation is good for what i know.
Saitama will destroy all of those loosers.
I’ve not read the manga just to wait for the anime so I’m not too sure if i should be disappointed or not, but the storyline has been a downer for me. Prolonged action and a pretty much a messy scene transition. I like the opening song tho. Gahddamnit i’ve waited 3 episodes just to see saitama do some amateur karate shit but nope.
Spoiler: episode 18
That ending though! So between it appearing that Genos was defeated and the speech that martial arts dude gave about the strong protecting the weak and ensuring survival of humanity (especially who was included in that number), I’m really interested to see how this is going to progress. It looks like it’s going to lead credence to my notion regarding Garou maybe getting recruited/converted to the side of good again. This seems to be about exposing the problems within the hero association (and thus society) itself.
Spoiler: episode 20
The Monster Association is up to absolutely no good. At least Suiryu has had some character growth. How messed up would it be if Saitama had been just waiting for him to ask for help? I mean that’s not likely but it would be funny. I actually thought he was escorted off site or something due to cheating? I don’t recall exactly. But the differences between people and monsters in terms of principles are quite slim in many cases—I do see the point the MA is trying to make. As I’ve stated previously, I like the plot development of this season so much more than the previous one. Let’s see if Suiryu recovers and becomes a Saitama groupie err follower as well.
lolled at sonic dinner
Right? Super fancy and unnecessary plus made him sick. Like I’m gonna eat this strange thing but it’s unsafe to do so raw. Seriously?! lmao.
Amazing,one more season please.
Genos is allways great.
Tatsumaki is awesome.
They kept the quality and the humor.
I love the insane environmental destruction the characters can do.
Saitama should get a new job as bug killer!
Saitama's punches are definetely worth to watch!
Did you laugh when he had that evil smile?
He probably thought he was being smarter than anyone else.
He SO thought he was being smarter than anyone else! That smile was ridiculous. So funny.
How about that fight with Garou and all the heroes in front of the shed? When they were so power drunk they couldn’t see reason or care about the safety of the child in the shed? Ugh. I’m disappointed at the ending. I really wanted to see Garou and Saitama actually clash so that we could find out about the ideal interaction but noooo... though to be fair, the Genos/Saitama/King final interaction was funny.
Saitama had some little clashes with Garou before,it was obvious who was the winner.
At the tournament the way he takes those attacks is hilarious, they are hitting a puppet.
And then one punch and KO!
That punch on Centichorro...
The bird took Garou and he wasn't happy about it.
They will make another season because they still have to destroy that huge monster who ate the cockroach.
And if there is another season coming out i think Garou will not be the enemy anymore.
And Tatsumaki needs more time on the scene, she is amazing.
Garou's backstory and character development was good.
I do not find him enjoying demons killing innocent people.
He is against heroes cuz of his backstory however believe he will change at some point.
Saitama's fight getting over in one punch is always disappointing :-(
I mean actually talking between Saitama and Garou where they knew that they were facing one another. Yes it’s obvious who the physical winner is but I meant from an ideological standpoint because Garou’s problem with the heroes is a problem of philosophy, not strength. Saitama doesn’t think the same as the rest of the heroes so I want to see what happens if they talk to each other.
Yes, I think that Garou could change and I think that Saitama could be the key to that but they left it without even getting the two together so unsatisfying. How freaking long am I supposed to wait for another season? I mean all this hype over Garou for the entire season and we don’t really get to see his character development? We only get to the point of his backstory? Are you fistf*cking me? Ugh. Whatever. It is what it is. I mean it was still enjoyable. Just a lot of build up and no nut.
@Kia ...only thing I don't want him is to have the demon fruit :-(
Also I don't see that happening before Garou meeting Saitama so as you said Garou will change after meeting Saitama.
[I mean actually talking between Saitama and Garou where they knew that they were facing one another. Somehow a monster would try to kill Garou and Saitama will destroy him with one punch and Garou would call him sensei.
A new Genos
People allways overestimate the underdog heros but Saitama is the real one,he doesn't talk too much,he beats them.
And people who need help see it and they are convinced.
If humanity needs to be saved he can do it.
What other hero is better than this one?
Someone who struggles like the rest of the weaklings to beat the enemy and satisfies himself with ideals?
Saitama can have ideals if he wants but he does the job better than any other more famous heros can.
No plot armor,no help, his own power only and here is a formidable ability to get allies and fans.
I want to see those who say heros like Saitama are boring saying Saitama's punch to Centichorro was boring.
Look at the damage!!!
