for zoro it will be his observation haki ( sanjis specialty for sanji it will be his armament haki (zoros specialty )

zoro is definitely going to fight shilew ( his evil counterpart Note his swordsmanship, being put on death row prior to joining Blackbeard, and calling Blackbeard out after Magellan’s crushing attack. The fact that he used to be a jailer nicely parallels Zoro’s past as a pirate hunter, too.
) and shilew has recently gained the powers of the invisiblity fruit which he will be able to use better than absalom and that will force zoro to grow in his observation haki

plus if zoro ends up fighting kizaru that will be another moment that would force his observation haki to grow since

its been stated kizaru can be so quick that only those with very good observation haki are capable of spotting him and when kizaru first appeared he fought rayleigh the vice captain of rogers crew ( and zoro is the luffys rayleigh (they even have similar scars over their eyes

    they are both swordsman

and when rayleigh first met roger he was sitting like how zoro often did

and why is zoro growing in observation haki important

mihawks epithet was originally going to be the clairvoyant which hints at mihawk being very skilled at observation haki (given what observation can do ) if he has that nickname

and for sanjis armament haki blooming it fits for one especially since his nickname is black leg and zephyr from one piece film z earned his nickname black arm because of his use of armament haki

plus sanji has a tendency to go up against opponents with high defenses ( pearl with his pearl armor , jabura with his tekkai kenpo ( where he can use tekkai while he moves ) , absalom with his altered body , judge with his raid suit, and his brothers with their genetically modified bodies )

so it fits for his armament haki to bloom and for him to learn the advanced stage of armament haki which would allow him to reach inside his opponents body and destroy them from within

I’ll try and find the SBS thing at some point, but I think Oda said Zoro specialised in Armament Haki whereas Sanji specialised in Observation.

I think Zoro getting Enma for the fight against Kaido is going to be a big factor in his Haki growth given how the blade works. As for Sanji, powerful Observation Haki alongside his new stealth suit would really max out his speed and general trickiness/evasion

I know that sanji specializes in observation haki in contrast to zoro specializing in armament haki thats the point they would grow in their skill with the haki that the other specializes in

    I think:
    • Zoro has to fight someone who has the ability to dent Haki-imbued blades.
      • Later on, his problem with directions will be a problem during fights.
    • Sanji has to fight someone who can "hide" aura.
      • He has to first unlock his exoskeleton but being a "failure" (his exoskeletal system might be inferior than his brothers') he has to rely on Haki to make up for it.

But for now I personally don't mind their Haki, so as Jinbe's. I think they can still handle their own. They have yet to unleash their full Haki potentials anyway. What's more worrying would be how others will unlock their own, especially we're in the "last days" of the series.

This is true, but increasing a weakness as much as possible (see Luffy with his kenbunshoku haki and the sudden jump it got with fighting Katakuri). Essentially, we have to have these sorts of key training moments for everyone. I have a hard time thinking the Vegapunk arc is not one instance of this, but with how far Luffy is from Yonkou level, everyone (including Luffy), still needs multiple key power-up fights/arcs.

It's always good to see how much even seemingly insignificant details still tie together (essentially all of the references), so thanks for sharing!
